Most Bang for Your Buck in the Softserve Ice Cream World

So we set to find out which Twist cone was the best. 7 ice cream cones later (and 2 upset stomachs) we bring the results. Obviously this is some very important research. It’s a wonder humanity has survived this long without it.

7. Maverick– Adventures 1st stop, unfortunately next time it’ll be the last. First off they don’t even have the right flavors. We had to go to 2, because the first Maverick had Strawberry and Root beer. Can you even imagine a worse twist cone? So we went to a different one and still no Chocolate and Vanilla. So Kelli went with Root Beer and Country Vanilla, and Sadie got chocolate and Cookies and Cream.  It had a weird texture and the cones got leaky near the end successfully putting it in last place.  Also there was a creepy employee who tried to hit on us while we checked out. Not ok.

Stats:
Price: $1.36
Cone:  3 out of 10
Ice Cream: 2 out of 10
Size: Self Serve (depends on your ice cream skills)

6. Burger King– The actual ice cream had similar texture to the Maverick. Sort of crystallized or something. Just gross. Didn’t make us as sick at the Maverick one though. Also half of it ended up on the pavement in an unfortunate car dancing incident. So anyways… not the king of all ice cream for sure.

< gross texture

Stats:
Price: $0.96
Cone: 4 out of 10
Ice Cream: 4 out of 10
Size: 7 out of 10

5. Sonic- America’s drive thru…. next we’ll just drive by. First disappointment was that they only have Vanilla. BORING. Also too much cream in the actual ice cream. Not good at all. Although the service was good. Apparently he is Kelli’s favorite Sonic Employee and she would know. She goes there a lot for the slushies. Also we forgot to take the picture until all we had left was the cone…. whoops.

Stats:
Price: $1.08
Cone: 5 out of 10
Ice Cream: 4 out of 10
Size: 7 out of 10

4. McDonald’s– This was a good cone. It probably would be placed higher if not for the fact that McDonald’s apparently doesn’t believe in carrying chocolate therefore twist cones are impossible. Work on that Micky Ds.

Stats:
Price: $1.06
Cone: 8 out of 10
Ice Cream: 7 out of 10 (but minus because they did not have twist)
Size: 5 out of 10

3. Burger Stop– Big cone. Fun place, but a little out of the way. The chocolate was a little too bitter, but the vanilla was really good so it balanced out. Locally owned so…. you guys probably can’t get any. Sorry.

Stats:
Price: $1.20
Cone: 8 out of 10
Ice Cream: 7.5 out of 10
Size: 10 out of 10

2. Arctic Circle– Where the good stuff is.  Good ice cream, good cone, cheap, fast. All around a pretty good bet. Also if your interested they have really good french fries.

Stats:
Price: $0.83 (promotional price usually $1.00)
Cone: 8 out of 10
Ice Cream: 8 out of 10
Size: 10 out of 10 (perfect size)

1. Dan’s– Local grocery store so again…. sorry guys. Basically really cheap and AWESOME ice cream. A little on the skimpy side for size, but costs less. Very high employee quality. The lady knew what we were going to order before we even asked, and apparently when you buy the twist cone there a dance that you have to do.

Stats:
Price: $0.60
Cone: 9 out 10
Ice Cream: 10 out of 10
Size: 7 out of 10, but higher if you figure in the fact that it’s only $0.60

Hilarious! I’m an Arctic Circle fan myself. Try Macey’s one day.
